Welcome to the Stockton University family! We are excited to have you joining our community. Please use the resources below to help you navigate through the transition of becoming a full-fledged employee.
New Faculty Orientation is a two day event in August designed to welcome our new faculty colleagues to Stockton.
Please note that New faculty also need to participate in New Hire Orientation.
Within days of joining the Stockton University new employees will be contacted by the Human Resource Department to schedule a New Hire Orientation session. At this meeting the employee is introduced to the mission of the University, how the University is organized, basic expectations for all University employees and is given a tour of the University campus. Another important component of the orientation is an overview of our medical, dental, life, pension and disability insurance packages. Additional benefits such as tuition waiver, tuition reimbursement, credit union, etc. are also discussed.
Classified staff serve a four-month Working Test Period, which can be extended an additional two months at the discretion of the University. The Working Test Period is part of the examination process and is designed to give the appointing authority the opportunity to determine whether or not an employee can satisfactorily perform the duties of a title. Progress reports will be submitted during the employees Working Test Period, first at the end of the second month and a final report at the conclusion of the test period. Time served under a provisional, temporary, interim or emergency appointment is not included. While serving in a working test period, an employee will not be eligible for a promotional examination from the title.
Unclassified AFT professional staff complete five one-year administrative appointments before becoming qualified for a multi-year contract. Questions regarding the reappointment process should be directed to Human Resources.
All vehicles parked in Stockton parking lots must have a virtual parking permit. Permits are free of charge. Once you have a Z number (employee ID#) go to the Parking & Transportation home page for full details on parking regulations and to register your vehicle.
