Testimonials

Associate Professor of Psychology
Director, SCOSA

Thank you so much for offering the ACUE training. It was helpful exercise in empathy to be a student (yikes, I am a little rusty). I have readily incorporated what I learned in both my online teaching and also a new training we are developing for a SCOSA/WeCare4R partnership.

I have completely restructured my online courses to facilitate regular communication with students, organize course content and revamp assessments to evaluate knowledge. I look forward to comparing student performance and course evaluations before and after these changes to understand how my students have benefited from the new versions of the courses.

As a Teacher Educator, my every day revolves around instructional techniques. I not only need to employ them in my teaching role but also effectively teach/model best practices for my students to use in their own P12 classrooms; teaching pedagogy is quite unique. I took the ACUE course to continue my quest for effective strategies and as an opportunity to reflect on my craft. I was not disappointed. Having earned Master's and doctoral degrees connected to instruction, I was impressed by ACUE's quality videos, extensive resources, and innovative approaches. The course was aligned to several topics within my own training and those I now teach within Stockton's School of Education. This course was a solid investment of time and effort. I recommend it for educators of any content and at all levels of experience.

Chair of FRST Mathematics

The ACUE course significantly influenced the ways I think about assessment and course design. ACUE helped me to set clear goals and expectations for students from the beginning of the semester without lowering standards for students. The result has been improved assessment results and attitudes from students. Students now recognize that every assignment has a purpose and is aligned with overall course objectives, thanks to ACUE. In addition, since students are engaged now as partners in creating and refining assessment rubrics, students report more positive feelings regarding assignments and assessment methods. Without ACUE, I would still be complaining about the ways students complete (or don't complete) assignments, and students would still be complaining about my assignments and grading policies.

I strongly recommend this course for any instructor, as it provides a solid foundation of current pedagogical innovations, increases student engagement and achievement, is easy to implement in small chunks for instructors, and supports instructors of any subject matter.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to complete the ACUE course without having to use my own funds to pay for the course.
