Senior Citizen Waiver

This waiver offers senior citizens who are age 65 and older and have been a resident of the State of New Jersey for the twelve months prior to enrollment, may register for courses and have the tuition waived. Fees are not waived. Registration is permitted if seats are available on the first day of class and tuition-paying students constitute the minimum number of students required to run the course. 


Unemployment Tuition Waiver

The purpose of the tuition waiver program is to enable certain unemployed individuals to enroll, without payment of tuition and fees, in a job training course which shall provide them with an identifiable job skill and shall assist them in gaining reemployment. The rules apply to eligible individuals who are residents of the State of New Jersey. Only one degree or one degree-bearing professional certificate from Stockton University may be earned under the tuition waiver. Tuition waivers will not be accepted in graduate programs once the degree or professional certificate has been earned, future participation in the unemployment waiver program is prohibited. 

Persons seeking to enroll under the job training program shall submit to the Bursar's Office:

  • Documentation from the New Jersey Department of Labor One-Stop Career System verifying their past presence in the labor market for at least two years and their unemployed status or receipt of a layoff notice.
  • Proof of eligibilty shall be dated no earlier than 30 days prior to the University's course registration day for eligible individuals for semester in which the job training course is taken. 

Financial Obligations and Registration:

  • There is a $20.00 registration fee per academic term. 
  • Undergraduate students are required to meet with staff from Stockton University of Academic Advising prior to the day of registration. Academic Advising will review the One-Stop Center's Employability Development Plan to determine the courses relevant to the Employability Development Plan.
  • A registration hold will be placed on the accounts of students using an umemployment waiver and released on the day designated for registration. 
  • Students may drop, not add, courses during the designated drop/add period for all students.  

Employee Tuition Waiver

Full-time employees are eligible and part-time employees are eligible on a pro-rata basis. Employees must have completed one year of employment at the University and must continue to receive satisfactory work performance evaluations while enrolled. Any employee wishing to make application for tuition waiver at Stockton University, must complete a Tutition Waiver form to their supervisor no later than 30 days before the beginning of the semester. All qualified employees of Stockton University ar eligible for a tuition waiver of up to 20 credits per academic year.
