Online Placement Testing
Taking Your Accuplacer Test(s) Online
While in-person testing sessions have resumed, due to University-wide COVID-19 precautionary measures, online placement testing is currently offered to all incoming first-year students. We have partnered with Examity's online proctoring service for students who wish to take their placement test(s) from home. If you are currently enrolled in a dual-credit mathematics course, please contact our testing services email account, PlacementTestingRoom@stockton.edu, as you may be exempt from placement testing.
You must have a Mac or PC with a webcam and microphone to complete your testing online. Chromebooks are not permitted. You can test your computer for Accuplacer's software requirements here.
If you are unable to complete your placement testing online for any reason, please complete the survey linked here.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, Stockton students will not be charged to complete their testing online. While Examity, the College Board's partnered proctoring service, typically charges a $25 fee per student, during these uncertain times Stockton will be taking on the cost of placement testing for students who complete their testing online.
Unfortunately, due to the cost of online proctoring, we are only offering the online testing option to incoming students. Current Stockton students wishing to test out of a given course are more than welcome to take Accuplacer at Stockton, at no cost, when on-campus activities are deemed safe to resume.
All incoming students who are required to complete placement testing will receive a notification from the Office of Admissions. Then, in a follow-up email, you will receive a complimentary voucher for your placement testing. Follow the instructions in the body of the email to schedule your placement testing with Examity's online proctoring services. You can view Examity's Quick Guide to learn more about the registration process.
When your test session is complete, your test proctor should inform you of your test result(s). You do NOT need to send a copy of your scores when you've finished your test. Stockton's Academic Advising team is notified via an email from College Board that you have completed your remote test session and will add your scores to your academic profile.
If you have questions or concerns about your results, please visit our course placement page for further details.
If you are having trouble registering or scheduling with Examity, as they are a third-party service, you should contact their customer service directly. You can find their contact information below.
