Center for Academic Advising
The Center works closely with current, transfer and prospective students, answering
questions about curriculum, graduation requirements and other issues that can help
students achieve their educational goals.
Center for Public Safety & Security
The Center for Public Safety & Security at Stockton University is an academic initiative
in partnership with our State’s public safety and security sectors, and is dedicated
to providing training, consulting and resources that support professional excellence
throughout the industry.
Center for Teaching & Learning Design
The Center for Teaching & Learning Design provides resources in course design and
teaching, career and professional development, and assessment and scholarship. The
CTLD also offers professional development opportunities, creative pedagogy ideas,
and guidance on syllabi and precepting.
Coastal Research Center (CRC)
The CRC maintains coastal zone management and assessment of New Jersey’s coastal region.
It works with local municipalities on issues relating to storm damage and shoreline
retreat. The CRC is a resource for geotechnical data working on numerous projects
with federal, state and municipal governments.
The Interdisciplinary Center for Hellenic Studies (ICHS)
ICHS aims to promote and assist in the study and teaching of Hellenism through the
many fields that define Greek civilization and culture. The areas of focus of the
Center are wide, inclusive and diachronic, representing all aspects of Hellenic culture.
The Tutoring Center
The Tutoring Center offers both a Writing Center and Math Center, where peer tutors
are available to assist students in enriching and building upon their classroom experience.
The Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning (SCESSL)
Stockton's Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning encourages students
to connect with their communities. Community engagement and volunteer opportunities
support SCESSL's mission to promote public service and social responsibility.
Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism (LIGHT)
The Levenson Institute was established to provide research, training and management
for these industries. Under the Lloyd D. Levinson Institute umbrella, Stockton offers
certificate programs in Gaming Management, promotes applied research and scholarship
targeted to the industry and will run an annual survey of the effectiveness of New
Jersey tourism promotion.
Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center
Named a “Center for Excellence” by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, the resource
center provides a wealth of opportunity to study, research and honor those who lived
through and died in the Holocaust. Located in the upper level of the University library,
the Center provides educational material for students who choose to minor or receive
their master’s degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The SBDC is part of a national partnership between state and federal government, the
private sector and higher education. The program is designed to provide assistance
services to establish new enterprises and promising start-ups, with the objective
of increased economic activity.
Southern Regional Institute (SRI) and Educational Technology Training Center
Providing technology training for K–12 superintendents, principals and other administrators,
the SRI helps teachers to strengthen their knowledge of math and science education
and to enhance their teaching skills. The SRI includes school districts and other
regional organizations in Atlantic, Cumberland, Cape May, Ocean and Burlington counties.
Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA)
SCOSA promotes education, research and services to the local, regional and statewide
aging population. The Center’s core mission is to encourage older residents to “age
successfully” through involvement in their community. Autobiography workshops, the
Memory Walk for the National Alzheimer’s Association and issues such as healthcare
are just a few of the many discussion, programs and events that are provided by SCOSA.
William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy
The Hughes Center serves as a catalyst for research, analysis and innovative policy
solutions on the economic, social and cultural issues facing southern New Jersey.
The Center serves as a forum for public discussion of policy issues, engaging both
citizens and policy makers to discuss issues in a manner that encourages public debate.
