With the guidance of Ms. Jovin and Aleyshka, I’ve been pushed beyond measure to step into my leadership and truly believe that all things are possible. The MC is so much more than just a job/paycheck—it’s an experience and a blessing in disguise for anyone who gets to experience it!

This opportunity has made me take a step back and reflect on the person I am and the person I want to become—not just internally, but also professionally and intellectually. It’s made me more aware of how I speak, react, and think in different situations, and more conscious of what’s happening in the world around me. I’m not the same person I was at the beginning of the year, and I’m excited to continue growing and see what God has planned for both me and the Center.

Working at the Multicultural Center has also helped me build a strong network on campus. I regularly engaged in conversations with event hosts, participants, and attendees, which has strengthened my communication and collaboration skills. In addition, partnering with other campus departments has allowed me to establish meaningful relationships and build a positive reputation, not just within the MC, but across the university.
