What made you want to come to Stockton?
I chose and wanted to come to Stockton for three reasons: the people, the places,
and the things. The people here were so welcoming even before committing to Stockton.
They radiated friendliness and diversity. I felt a sense of belonging because there
was someone here for every type of person. Additionally, I loved the place with the
nature feel, in combination with the modern science labs that made the campus feel
less like a school and more like a home. Lastly, there are so many things I love about
Stockton. There are so many clubs to join, events to attend, and ways to get involved.
I knew I wanted to go to Stockton because there were so many opportunities.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
The biggest piece of advice I have for prospective students is to get involved. You
don’t want to leave college with the regrets of “I wish I would’ve….” Join that club,
apply for that job, and go to that event. College is not only about traditional learning
experience in a classroom setting, but learning your interests and hobbies. College
is a chance to find out who you are and a chance to experiment. Take all the opportunities
you can!
What is your best Stockton memory so far?
My best Stockton memory so far is meeting my best friends during Welcome Week of freshman
year. Welcome Week was an exciting time and a great introduction to the many things
to do at Stockton. Throughout this week, I was able to meet many friends who I still
am very close with as well as find out common interests with them. The highlight for
me was definitely volunteering to be hypnotized at the hypnotist show. Unfortunately,
it did not work on me which I am still very disappointed about.
