Homework Completion Programs

Stanley S. Holmes Village

The Homework Completion Program is in the Community Room at Stanley Holmes Village, located at 1539 Arctic Avenue, Atlantic City. From Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, volunteers from SCCESL and the ACPD tutor youth in the community room. The program is a collaboration among Stockton University, the Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD), the Atlantic City Housing Authority, and the Atlantic City Urban Redevelopment Agency. The primary goal of the Homework Completion Program is to engage children in their schoolwork and provide them with a vision of the potential benefits of a future college education. Buzby Homes Village

The Homework Completion Program in the Community Room at Buzby Village, located at 600 South Drive, Atlantic City. From Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, volunteers from SCCESL and the ACPD tutor youth in the community room. The program is a collaboration among Stockton University, the Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD), the Atlantic City Housing Authority, and the Atlantic City Urban Redevelopment Agency. Computer and Internet Workshops

The Computer and Internet Workshops were held every Wednesday at the Scarpa Academic Center in Atlantic City from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Any community member can visit the campus to use the computers and learn how to enhance their technology skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet information retrieval, and using smartphones and tablets. No registration is required.

Social Hour with Older Adults

The Social Hour with Older Adults is a collaboration between Stockton University and the Pleasantville Housing Authority, as well as Stockton University and the Atlantic City Housing Authority. The program offers older adults the opportunity to engage with Stockton student volunteers in playing games such as checkers, chess, cards, bingo, and dominoes. Please note that transportation is available for six volunteers per session at Altman Terrace; however, students are also welcome to drive themselves. Dates for the Social Hour programs are subject to change based on the community's needs and the availability of the buildings.
