Message from the President

More than 50 years ago, I made a life-changing decision to plant myself and grow right here at, then, Stockton State College, and it has proven to be one of the best decisions of my life.

It has been my honor to put in the work to make a Stockton degree more valuable each and every day. Driven by our mission of putting Students First, we continue to look for ways to decrease student indebtedness. In addition to our Stockton Promise grant, the Garden State Guarantee offers eligible students the chance to complete their degree without paying anything toward tuition and fees.

The dedication to teaching and learning, inclusive student success, and strategic enrollment management that our faculty and staff demonstrate was recognized earlier this year as Stockton University had its accreditation reaffirmed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The evaluating team commended Stockton for fostering a climate of respect among students, faculty, staff and administration from a range of diverse backgrounds, ideas and perspectives.

It was also an exciting time to be an Osprey as we celebrated Stockton's 50th anniversary of teaching. Several events and projects highlighted this momentous occasion, including the 50th in Flight mural that now proudly hangs in the Campus Center. As a student of that very first class in 1971, I have such a strong connection to Stockton and have witnessed and helped play a role in the transformation of our “college in the pines” into the vibrant University it is today.

The Annual Report aligns with our Strategic Plan 2025: Choosing Our Path. I invite you to read more about the 2021-2022 academic year and witness what all our students, faculty and staff have accomplished. Every day, they make me proud to be an Osprey for life - and make it so bittersweet to be retiring at the end of the current fiscal year.
