In Loving Memory of Dr. (Professor) Yehuda Bauer

It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of Dr. (Professor) Yehuda Bauer on October 18, 2024.

Recognized as a renowned scholar of the Holocaust around the world, Dr. Bauer graced the classrooms of Stockton University as the first Ida E. King Distinguished Visiting Professor of Holocaust Studies in 1995 and again in 2002. During his tenure in Southern New Jersey, he and his beloved wife Elana enjoyed relationships with many members of our community. Gatherings which included musical presentations by both Yehuda and Elana became the focal point of the evening. The hospitality of our community was an enduring element of their extended stays here in the U.S.

Dr. Bauer represented Stockton University with pride and extended himself on behalf of Holocaust Education on many levels during his tenure. The Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage hosted Dr. and Mrs. Bauer with a special event titled Character Education Day which examined issues including Parallels between Holocaust and Genocide and the lessons of Morals, Ethics and Values by individuals.

Dr. Bauer represented and focused on three rules:
Never Be A Victim, Never Be A Perpetrator
Never Be A Bystander
Dr. Bauer was an UPSTANDER.

MAY HIS MEMORY BE FOR A BLESSING
