The Hughes Public Policy Center hosts public events featuring influential voices from New Jersey and beyond, including policymakers, public service advocates, journalists, and media professionals. Supported by our donors and Stockton University, these free events promote civic dialogue and community engagement. We welcome speaker suggestions and collaboration opportunities with organizations and individuals committed to public policy and civic engagement.

The William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University and The Press of Atlantic City will co-sponsor an Oct. 22 debate between major-party candidates for the 2nd Congressional District race in the U.S. House of Representatives. The one-hour debate between Republican incumbent Jeff Van Drew and Democratic challenger Zack Mullock will be held at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center Theatre on the Galloway campus.
The debate will not have a live audience, but it will be livestreamed on the Hughes Center’s YouTube page and on The Press’ website.
Members of the public can submit potential questions for the candidates by emailing the Hughes Center at hughescenter@stockton.edu or emailing The Press of Atlantic City at newstips@pressofac.com and put “CD2 Questions” in the subject line.
Panelists Nicholas Huba, digital editor for The Press, and Alyssa Maurice, assistant director for the Hughes Center, will pose questions to the candidates.
