Building One America Leadership Training 2024

The William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy partnered with the New Jersey Building One America chapter to sponsor a training for community leaders who want to become more effective at influencing change. The training has been designed by experienced organizers affiliated with Building One America and the Summit for Civil Rights. Its stated goal is to build more inclusive and equitable communities.

Hughes Center Interim Director Alyssa Maurice welcomed attendees at Lakeside Lodge on June 27. “The fact that this training is going to equip you with the tools to navigate political dynamics and power structures so that you can affect meaningful change aligns very closely with the mission of the Hughes Center to encourage civic participation,” said Maurice. “We want people to be politically engaged and make a mark on their communities.”

The Hughes Center for Public Policy provides a forum for the discussion of important policy issues and encourages civil civic engagement through research, events, and students programming. By conducting public opinion polling, the Center also gives voice to New Jersey residents in these conversations, ensuring everyone has a seat at the table. The Center shares these values of equity and inclusion with Building One America.
