Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University’s Arts and Humanities Performing Arts program will present “ChoreoProject 39,” a series of dance performances choreographed by students, from April 20-23, in the intimate Experimental Theatre on the Galloway campus.

Stockton Dance Company students have been preparing, choreographing and rehearsing for this dance concert throughout the spring semester.

Caitlin Pittenger, assistant professor of Dance, says “This concert will highlight student choreographic works, giving them a chance to develop their artistic voice and express themselves through movement. “ChoreoProject 39” provides dance students a space to create, experiment, and explore as emerging dance artists in New Jersey.”

The performances will take place in the Experimental Theatre, where various ChoreoProjects have been performed over the past 28 years, inspiring many young artists, across various styles of dance, to step into the spotlight, perform, and choreograph pieces.

Rain Ross, associate professor of Dance, describes the usefulness of a black-box theater by saying, “‘ChoreoProject’ provides an opportunity for the Stockton Dance Company to present works in an intimate setting, much like many of the professional experiences in New York and throughout the country. The audience gets to see works that are designed for smaller spaces as well as works that are in their first stages of performance and development; the audience also gets to be up close with the dancers!”

“ChoreoProject 39” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 20-22, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors with ID. Tickets can be ordered online at www.stockton.edu/pac or by calling the Box Office at (609)-652-9000.
