John Russell Manson
Professor of Physics
Dr. Russell Manson is a Professor of Applied Physics and the Director of the Masters program in Data Science and Strategic Analytics (DSSA) at Stockton University. He has over twenty years of experience in education covering a broad and diverse swathe of academia. His educational passions lie in environmental physics, engineering, science and technology and in particular in computational modeling and data science. In addition to Stockton, he has taught at Bucknell University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Le Moyne College and the George School. He has also worked for the British Civil Service as a Senior Watershed Scientist working in the Catchment Management Program of The Macaulay Institute. Dr. Manson has extensive research and teaching experience in computer modeling, water and environmental engineering, computational geophysics and natural systems management with particular emphasis on surface water transport processes and hydrology. His work is published in journals such as the Nature(Geosciences), Journal of Computational Physics, the International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Geophysical Research Letters, Environmental Science and Technology, Water Resources Research, Water Research and Freshwater Biology. He has an vigorous international research agenda with ongoing projects in Scotland, Iceland and Poland.
