12-Month Housing FAQ

Students can find frequently asked questions about 12-month housing contracts offered by Residential Life at Stockton University.

Students can live in Stockton’s residence halls for 12-months with varying payment options.  The winter term begins the day after the end of the Fall semester, and the summer term begins the day after the Spring graduation.  The summer term ends on August 9.

Option 1:  Students will be charged $600 for the winter term, which would be applied to their Fall bill in addition to their existing housing costs.  Students would then be charged $1,820 in March of the Spring semester for the summer term.  Students who wish to use financial aid for the summer must contact the financial aid office to have their cost of attendance reevaluated and be enrolled in a minimum of two summer classes.  Students are encouraged to take advantage of the summer discounts by taking 3 summer classes for the price of 2.

Option 2:  Students will be charged $600 for the winter term, which would be applied to their Fall bill in addition to their existing housing costs.  Students would then be charged $1,820 in March of the Spring semester for the summer term.  If students are not registered for summer courses may also use their own funds to pay for the additional charges for the winter and summer term.

Option 3:  An office at Stockton may provide funding to work during the winter or summer term.  That office should contact James Timothy, the Assistant Director of Residential Life to coordinate the details of the students stay. James can be reached at 609-652-4697, or James.Timothy@stockton.edu

Students can save more than $1,000 per semester by signing up for a 12 month contract, than those that sign up for a 9 month contract and then pay separately to stay for winter and summer housing.  Students will be able to live, learn, earn, play, and grow in Galloway and Atlantic City throughout the year.
Students who would like to stay in the winter or summer outside of the 12-month contract would be charged a daily rate of $25 per day with a minimum stay of thirty (30) consecutive nights

Any student who is actively enrolled for the current academic year Stockton University who lives in Galloway or Atlantic City housing.

Students will be able to stay in their Fall housing assignment for the winter term.  All students will relocate to Atlantic City for the summer term.  All student summer housing will live in Atlantic City for the Summer of 2020.

Atlantic City 12-month contract - yes, you may have to relocate in order to have rooms cleaned, however you will remain in the same type of room you have chosen, i.e. (A student who lived in a 4 person private room for Fall, Winter, and Spring will get to live in a 4 person private for the summer)

Galloway 12-month contract - yes, students will be able to stay in their location for Fall, Winter, and Spring, but will need to relocate to Atlantic City for the summer.  Students will be assigned based upon availability.  Roommate groups may not be kept together depending upon the availability in the building.

Galloway housing will be utilized for summer conferences and routine building maintenance.

Students who stay in housing areas over the winter term that do not have kitchens (Housing 2, 3, 5, and Chris Gaupp) would be required to have a meal plan that includes the winter term, or they would need to purchase a winter term meal plan.

For the summer term, no meal plan would be required since all summer student housing is in Atlantic City, which has full kitchens in each apartment.

For the winter and summer term the due date to sign up for a 12-month contract is two weeks prior to the end of the semester.

Typically 12-month housing begins in mid-August until the following August.  Students may be required to relocate in order to have the apartment cleaned for move-in.
