GALLOWAY TWP., NJ The Holocaust Resource Center of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey announces the annual Ida E. King Memorial Lecture, entitled The Significance of the Holocaust for Pope Pius XII. The lecture will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 15th, at 7:30 PM, at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in the upper G-Wing Lounge.
This lecture is being presented in commemoration of the 68th anniversary of Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, one of Germanys pogroms launched against the Jews. The speaker for this lecture will be Dr. Michael Phayer, Ida E. King Distinguished Visiting Scholar of Holocaust Studies 2006-2007. Dr. Phayer is an internationally known Holocaust scholar whose area of expertise is the Catholic Church and the Holocaust. In 2000, Phayer published the book The Catholic Church and the Holocaust, 1930-1965.
Educators, community members, and students are encouraged to attend. The lecture is free and open to the public. New Jersey educators will be able to earn 1.5 Professional Development Hours.
