Stockton Again Named Among Top Five

Public Liberal Arts Colleges in the U.S.

U.S. News and World Reports prestigious rankings list Richard Stockton College of NJ among the nations elite

 POMONA, NJ For the second consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report magazine has ranked The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey among the top five national public liberal arts colleges in the United States,

 

Stocktons ranking marks the third time in the last five years Stockton has been included among the top five in the publications annual Americas Best Colleges issue.

 

Stockton's 43 percent acceptance rate ranks as the lowest acceptance rate among all the public liberal arts colleges. It remains comparable with such private institutions as Sarah Lawrence College (41 percent) and Bucknell University (38 percent). The low acceptance rate highlights the difficulty in admission to the college.

 

We are pleased that U.S. News has again recognized Stocktons excellence in a national context, said President Herman J. Saatkamp, Jr. People rely on the U.S. News survey for an unbiased assessment at what different colleges have to offer.  It is very satisfying to see that our College has once again received an appropriate ranking.  We should be mentioned in the company of the elite institutions nationwide.

 

In recent years, the U.S. News Americas Best Colleges has become one of the most eagerly anticipated publications of the year in higher education circles.  It has come to be known as a well-respected consumer guide for parents and prospective college students.

Stockton, a 6,600-student public college is part of the New Jersey public higher education system and is nestled in a unique Pine Barrens setting just 10 miles from the beaches of Atlantic City and other South Jersey shore resorts.
