Atlantic City, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jerseys Carnegie Library Center will host Making the Most of Your Board, a seminar for Directors of non-profit and community organizations on Thursday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Carnegie Library Center, Stocktons Atlantic City satellite center, is located at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., in Atlantic City, NJ.
The full-day, professional development seminar will be facilitated by nationally recognized non-profit development professionals, Mary Hunt and Don Griesmann of Community Services Support Center, Inc. The workshop is designed to provide the non-profit director with an understanding of the underlying governance structure of the non-profit organization, including the cultural, ethical and legal frameworks within which advisory Boards and boards of Directors function. It will also examine specific strategies for maximizing effectiveness when working with Boards.
The seminar is sponsored by the Office of Professional Development and Continuing Education for Health Sciences and Human Services at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
Cost of the seminar is $55 per person and includes materials, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, lunch, parking and certificate of attendance for five contact hours. Attendees at this seminar will also receive a 10 percent discount on any seminars offered during the fall2006 Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Professional Development and Continuing education for Health Sciences and Human Services Non-profit Management Series.
