Pomona, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey began Black History Month celebrations at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 with a flag raising and opening ceremony at the Arts and Sciences Building circle on the Pomona campus. A reception was held in the upper G-Wing lounge immediately following opening remarks.
A series of workshops, from public health and spirituality to music, are scheduled throughout the month of February, as well as other social and educational activities including a comedy show, Black History Wheel of Fortune, a skating party and Diversity Day. Stockton Student Television (SST) will also air a selection of classic African-American movies throughout the month.
Events are sponsored by the Unified Black Student Society, the Caribbean Student Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, and Delta Sigma Theta.
