Galloway Twp., NJ Marvin Hamlisch, Oscar Winning composer and performer, will headline a spectacular evening of food, entertainment and auction on Saturday, April 9, 2005 when The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Foundation presents its 25th Silver Anniversary Spring Scholarship Benefit.
Hamlisch, who has won virtually every major music award: three Oscars, four Grammies, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe Awards, will grace the Stockton Performing Arts Center stage. Hamlisch, known for the Broadway shows Theyre Playing Our Song, and The Goodbye Girl, is the composer of more than 40 motion picture scores including The Way We Were and The Sting. He is Principal Pops Conductor for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C.
We are thrilled to have world-class entertainer Marvin Hamlisch spotlight the Foundations 25th anniversary, said Dr. Peter Caporilli, president of The Richard Stockton College Foundation. As much as we look forward to the entertainment, the show and the auction, we are mindful that the main purpose of the event is to raise scholarship funds to help deserving students.
Dr. Caporilli is pleased to acknowledge the participation of Mac and Kay Seelig as Co-chairs, along with Chairpersons Gayle and Howard Gross, M.D.
Tickets, sponsorships and volunteer opportunities are available for the event. For more information, contact the Office of College Development at (609) 652-4658.
