Stockton Sets Conference on Sexual Assault
A Provocative Look at the Dark Side of Dating
Speakers to Discuss Consent in Relationships; What Constitutes Assault

Galloway Township, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host an informative Sexual Assault Conference on campus from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, starting at the Alton Auditorium (formerly A-Wing Lecture Hall). Breakout sessions will take place throughout the day at B and C Wings.
Speakers will discuss sexual assault, consent in relationships, and many other items of interest on this timely issue. Brett Sokolow, J.D. from the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management will present on substance abuse and consent in relationships. Andrea Cooper, a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, will present Kristins Story, a mothers account of acquaintance rape, depression and suicide. One in Four, an all-male peer education group that educates men about sexual assault, how to help women who have been the victims of sexual assault, and how to stop sexual assault on college campuses, will make a presentation.
Also on hand will be Catharsis Productions which will present a program entitled Sex Signals examining dating, sex and acquaintance rape on college campuses. The group uses improvisational comedy, education, and audience participation to get its message across. The Stockton Police, Professor Janice Joseph and Celeste Steinberg Albert will also have presentations on the program. There will be interactive programs dealing with relationship issues. Door prizes will be given and refreshments will be served.
The event is being conducted by the Student Senate, and many departments in the Division of Student Affairs at the college. There is no cost to attend, however seating is limited.
