Stockton University is among the top 10 Public Regional Universities according to the U.S. News and World Report

GALLOWAY, N.J.  -  Stockton University is among the top 10 Public Regional Universities in the North according to the U.S. News and World Report 2018 “America’s Best Colleges” ranking released today.

Stockton improved its ranking from 14th among public universities in 2017, and is also ranked 41st among 187 public and private universities included in the North region.

“This is great news,” Stockton president Harvey Kesselman said.

Kesselman said the ranking and other recent awards recognize efforts by faculty and staff to achieve Stockton’s mission of providing a diverse student body with the skills to succeed in a changing world.

“Our goal is to make a Stockton education more valuable every day,” Kesselman said.

In October Stockton will receive a Civic Learning and Community Engagement Award from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities for its work with the American Democracy Project and service learning.

The Student Loan report recently included Stockton in its review of colleges that participate in the Federal Work-Study program, providing opportunities for students to work on campus.

Stockton is ranked as a “Best for Vets” college by Military Times, received a Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award two years in a row from Insight Into Diversity, and is included in Money Magazine’s “Best Colleges for Your Money” 2017 edition.

Princeton Review included Stockton in its 2018 list of best Northeastern colleges and Green Colleges.

The research firm Eduventures this summer ranked Stockton seventh nationally and first in New Jersey for student success based on graduation rates, academics and affordability.

Stockton serves more than 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students on its more than 1,600-acre wooded campus plus satellite sites in Atlantic City, Hammonton, Manahawkin and Woodbine. A new Atlantic City residential campus is under construction and scheduled to open in fall 2018.
