Drawing against Oblivion Art Exhibit

The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University and the Milton and Betty Katz JCC located in Margate, NJ, announce the free open to the public exhibit, Drawing against Oblivion on October 19 – November 6, 2017 at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Margate, NJ, located at 501 North Jerome Avenue.  The charcoal portrait art exhibit is of children who were victims during the Holocaust. The portraits are drawn by Austrian artist, Manfred Bockelmann. The free open to the public exhibit is available during the JCC hours of operation: Monday through Thursday from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm + Friday from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm + Saturday & Sunday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Note: Docent guided tours are available by reservation (609-652-4699) for school groups and organizations.   

 

On Thursday, October 26 , 7:00 pm, at the JCC, the award winning documentary film,Drawing against Oblivion, will be shown followed by a discussion with the artist, Manfred Bockelmann, and Dr. Marion Hussong, Professor of Literature at Stockton University. The film event is free and open to the public (please share with others). Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
