Course Description
This continuing education series on manual therapy of the extremities will focus on
examination/assessment and mobilizations techniques of the extremities including the
shoulder
girdle, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee and foot/ankle. High velocity, low amplitude
thrust
techniques are incorporated into the manual techniques as well. There will be extensive
lab time
dedicated to joint mobility assessment and treatment ~75% of the course. There will
be an
anatomy review on the first day to help refresh those of joints being assessed and
treated.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to understand the importance of biomechanical
aspects of joint mobility - Participants with be able to actively apply biomechanical positional fault and
mobility testing to the upper and lower extremities. - Participants will be able to identify clinical implications that indicate joint
mobilizations and rule out contraindications to manual joint mobilizations - Participants will be able to demonstrate confidently how to perform joint
mobilizations of the upper and lower extremity joints including the shoulder,
