Strategies for Addressing Cognitive Dysfunction 10/21/19

Course Description:

This 2-hour course will provide a basic overview of the areas of cognition and their connection to functional activities, as well as an overview of common diagnoses that affect cognitive functioning.  We will discuss and provide examples of compensatory strategies and activities to support and maximize a client’s independence. The course will be a combination didactic/workshop.

Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will:

  • Identify common cognitive deficits associated with discussed diagnoses
  • Identify compensatory strategies which address each of these cognitive deficit areas.
  • Become familiar with examples of methods for implementing these compensatory strategies
