COVID 19: Important Information About Residential Life

Dear Students:

Following state guidelines to stem the spread of the COVID-19  Stockton University continues to  develop strategies to promote the health and safety of all of its community members.  As a result, remote instruction will be extended for the remainder of the Spring semester.

Co-curricular activities such as student club and organization meetings, events and trainings that can be offered remotely will be delivered in that format for the remainder of the Spring semester.

With some exceptions (see below), students who currently reside on campus will be asked to move out of the campus residence halls and return home for the remainder of the Spring semester.

EXCEPTIONS:  Students for whom relocation would cause extreme hardship, and those who are facing other special circumstances, may request that the Office of Residential Life evaluate their situation on a case-by-case basis. Examples of  special circumstances include:

  • International students;
  • Students with housing insecurity or accessibility issues;
  • Students engaged in an internship, clinical placement, or other experiential learning that is a graduation requirement (so long as their host placement site remains open);
  • Students with other significant extenuating circumstances.

To apply for an exception, please e-mail Dr. Steven Radwanski, Executive Director of Residential Life: steven.radwanski@stockton.edu.

The Office of Residential Life will provide time frames for you to select a move-out date. That communication will be sent to all residential students separately on March 23rd to select a date and time to remove  your items.

It is very important that you adhere to the time and date provided to you. For health and safety reasons, we cannot have large numbers of students and their families returning to campus at the same time. In order to practice social distancing, a limited number of students will be allowed to retrieve their items on each date.

If you are not able to make the date and time provided, you will have an opportunity to have a new date and time assigned to you.

We understand that many of you will have questions regarding this decision, particularly those related to finances.  We are in the process of developing a plan to address this issue.

Please continue to reference the COVID-19 website found at https://stockton.edu/emergency-management/coronavirus.html.

Sincerely,

Christopher C. Catching, Ed.D.
