THE RICHARD STOCKTON COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY IN THE PRINCETON REVIEW COLLEGE GUIDE,
“THE BEST NORTHEASTERN COLLEGES-2006 EDITION”

Stockton College is one of 224 select colleges and universities in the Northeast that The Princeton Review profiles in the new 2006 edition of its book, The Best Northeastern Colleges (Random House / Princeton Review, August 2, 2005, $16.95).

Says Robert Franek, V.P., Publishing, The Princeton Review, "The schools in this book all have excellent academic programs. We chose them from several hundred Northeastern schools we considered based on institutional data we collect about the schools, our surveys of students at them, and our visits to schools over the years. We also worked to have a wide representation of colleges in the book by size, selectivity, character and locale.” The book includes schools in the District of Columbia and eleven states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

For this edition, The Princeton Review surveyed 53,000 students at the 224 schools in the book. Students were asked to rate their schools on several matters from the teaching ability of their profs to the campus food, and report on their experiences at them. Candid comments from surveyed students lace the book's narrative profiles of the colleges. Some of the student comments in the profile on Stockton are: "Strong programs and electives, [a] laid-back vibe where professors ask you to call them by first name, [and] great value” all draw students to Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, a midsize public liberal arts school. Students point out that “by being a liberal arts college, there’s a lot of variety in the classes Stockton offers.” The profiles also include a sidebar titled "Survey Says…". It lists topics about which students surveyed at the school were in highest agreement.

Unlike The Princeton Review's annual "Best Colleges" guidebook (the 2006 edition of which is titled The Best 361 Colleges), The Best Northeastern Colleges does not include school ranking lists. The 2006 edition of The Best Northeastern Colleges is the second edition of the book. Last year, The Princeton Review also published The Best Mid-Atlantic Colleges, The Best Midwestern Colleges, The Best Southeastern Colleges and The Best Western Colleges. They are part of a line of over 200 Princeton Review books published by Random House. The Princeton Review, known for its education, admission and test-prep services, is not affiliated with Princeton University or ETS.
